Stanton L. Young Walk

Oklahoma City, OK

Stanton L. Young Walk is the centerpiece of the Landscape Master Plan for the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Scope:
Demolition of a paved street and construction of landscaped campus “centerpiece” with fountains, clock tower, gateways and public art.

Description:
The Stanton L. Young Walk, an area 250 feet wide and 1,000 feet long, was closed to traffic, demolished, and transformed into a beautiful tree-lined pedestrian mall with stepped terraces and brick-paved sidewalks and special points of interest, including a clock tower, a cascading fountain, arches, and works of art.

To the north of the Stanton L. Young Walk is the Great Lawn, a large waterwall fountain, a park area within an existing grove of trees, and two fountain courtyard areas.

Total cost of the Stanton L. Young Walk is approximately $5.5 million.
